Noemi's Duet @ Christmas Program

All of a sudden Emi was walking to the front with a boy in her class. Our jaws dropped, we had no idea she was singing a duet! Nathan leaped over heads to the camera to make sure it was working--our luck--it was FULL! After franctic deleting of pics that were never getting thru the download stage anyway he caught what he could :)
I asked Emi why she didn't tell us and she just grinned, "I tried to!"

Don't Assume

Just had a scary experience...Noemi was carting Cielo around in the stroller. It's never been a problem before, but apparently they decided to take a trip downstairs this time. Now I wish we were minus a wall or two...I would have seen the whole thing and prevented it. *sigh*
At least everyone is okay, just a bloody nose and an achy belly. We had a discussion about where strollers can and can't be driven, bet you didn't know that was one you ought to add to your list of safety talks with your kids!!

Play Date

We early half of the day running errands. The most exciting of which was purchasing grass seed for our backyard (YAAAY!! No more muddy dogs, or dusty kids!) Rio was not always cooperative, we think because of tooth pain :( Once we got home we rushed to stuff some food in our faces because our friends were waiting for us to go play at the park! Rio hung back with Daddy and took a nap, but all the girls went to play in the sun. The girls had fun playing with some friends, running around all over the place. The popular spot for the 3 year olds was the swings. Noemi even started to get the hang of getting herself moving on her own...although she wasn't all thrilled about having to try it. She doesn't like doing things she isn't good at very much. But she is going to get the hang of it and be swinging herself all the time soon! The rest of the day we put ourselves to work doing house chores. Alena has a new job of tidying up the bathroom, and today she folded a basket our laundry to earn some money back that she owes for damaging a library book...whooops... We were busy bees until dinner time, then it was bath time, then it was bed time! :)

Protection

If you're reading this, you got my invite! :) I'm hoping everyone who enjoyed keeping up with us will feel free to contact me for an invite! The nerves about keeping it protected finally got to me so I jumped on the "bandwagon" there. At first I was thinking I ought to just remove any identifiable details, but with the web address being "hanamaikai.com" that seemed pretty hopeless! Anyway, now I won't be nervous about creeper stalkers or photo theft!

We've been enjoying summer vacation, mostly just being lazy and teaching the new puppy the ropes. Yes, NEW puppy, an 8 week standard poodle we picked up about 2 weeks ago from his breeder because they thought he broke his jaw and "couldn't" take him to the vet. Turned out it was a broken tooth or two, and he has been healing up. Now we have a brand spankin' new puppy on our hands, it's like starting from scratch all over again! The girls enjoy him though.

Today we enjoyed a little trip to BYU'S Paleontology museum. Alena had been asking about being able to visit a dinosaur museum so we went. I sure love free museums! :)
The girls enjoyed seeing all the fossils...and...playing on them...like they are NOT supposed to *sigh* But we didn't break anything! Alena stopped to take notes on all the dinosaurs and that one named after Utah was pretty sweet.

We stopped at "the slab" for some pizza. We ordered half "boring" stuff and half "interesting" stuff, assuming the kids would want the more plain stuff, as usual. Well, they fooled us because they wanted all the chicken and sausage and ham...so the parents ended up with the cheese and pepperoni. That's life!

Tenorio has been cranky and clingy because he's popped out two new teeth. But he sleeps through the night now *THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!* We're talking TWELVE HOURS of being completely OUT! *****BLISS*****

I have a lot of updating to do, Cielo's birthday, and a church talent show just to start...they will pop up eventually!

First Recital

Sister is a graduate!

The family got together to celebrate Stefanie's graduation from SUU. We ahd a wild time partying :)! Congratulations "ESTEFILANDIA"!!!

Sibling Love

Rio has been smiling at his sisters ever since he could open his eyes. It just takes one look from them to get him grinning. It’s true love :)

New Dog!

Cupcake is gone to a new fam and Kobe is promised to a family waiting for permission from their landlord.

This is “Aichi” short for “Ay, chihuahua!” :)  He is yorkie/chihuahua and a tiny thing! You can learn more abt him at my dog blog  if you’re interested!

She’s showing off her first loose tooth! She’s been agonizing about being the last kid in her class to lose a tooth.  The little wiggler is finally here! (it is her bottom one on the left)

Happy Bday Emi!

Noemi had a full on birthday party. She and daddy made invitations “from scratch” and mailed them out to everyone who was invited.  She had lots of friends come: Jenny, Jeshua, Xiomarie, Grace, Noah, Indie, and even Adam and Grandpa!  They had a blast jumping in the bounce house mostly. There was a purple pony pinata that they smashed to bits, and chocolate cupcakes per Noemi’s request.  Of course, lots of fun presents! 

Her only disappointment…she states that she does not feel different being 5!  No one feels much different as the years go by, sweetie; that’s why we can’t believe it when we realize how old we have gotten!

Rio in his Blessing Outfit

Mis Abuelos sent this beautiful outfit for Tenorio to wear at his blessing. I decided to get some photos of him in it just in case he has an exploding growth spurt before we have the blessing! They blanket he is on his one Nathan's grandmother crocheted for him. He is surrounded by great-grandparent love!!

New Dog Adventures

Who could resist a breeding pair Bichon Frises? Okay, I know plenty of you could, but when I saw them I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to work some magic!





The bigger guy is "Kobe", he's the boy and the one with the cotton ball for a head is "Cupcake," the girl. As you can see, they were terribly matted and gross. Kobe's hair almost came off in one large piece because it was all felted together. I felt so sorry for them!
The upside is they have great temperaments, are pretty content to just lazy around and lay down wherever. Kobe is a very chill teddy bear, while Cupcake is a little more rambunctious, and she is a great playmate for Suki. Here is a little more info on the Bichon Frise breed

New Year and One Month

We celebrated New Years in the comfort of our own home :) The girls actually managed to stay awake clear to midnight! Phew! Tenorio is also one month old today, he has GROWN and continues to get biggger of course.
