Our first "emergency"

We had a thunderstorm, and for some reason the girls have assimilated thunderstorms to emergencies. They get very concerned for anyone who is still outside because they are afraid that they are going to be hit by lightening. And then I have to answer a zillion questions about lightening and what it actually does or doesn't hit. Well tonight the lights actually went out. We were running around the house playing so we had to tell everyone to freeze until we could find them. Then Nathan gathered the oil lamps using his cellphone as a flashlight. The girls thought the storm was pretty neat once the lamps were lit. They kept exclaiming how exciting their first emergency was. Everyone went to bed peacefully later, and the power returned at midnight. It was a cute night to remember.
